¡No pussy! - A slogan from the 1930s brought global fame to amateurs

Amateur football club from London, playing in the Twelfth Division, became a sensation because of the anti-nationalist slogan of the Civil War in Spain. Although it sounds like a crazy scenario or a joke, it`s actually a fact.

The team is from East London and is quite new - it was created in June this year when some of the fans of the already existing FC Clapton decided to form their own team, dissatisfied with the owner of their former favorite club. This is how the Clipton Football Club is born, whose executives decide to put on a non-traditional approach to creating guest teams for their debut season, entangling their left-wing political beliefs in the identity of their team.




The design for the second team is dedicated to and inspired by the International Brigades - the volunteer squads of the Civil War who fought on the side of the Second Spanish Republic against Francisco Franco and the nationalists led by him. From the newly formed Clapton, they point out that there were British representatives such as the poet Laurie Lee and the writer George Orwell.




In the words of fans, the team is elected after a vote and its idea is to continue to confess their values and the basic one - the struggle against fascism, as one of them acknowledges in the face of Nathan Williams.
